Cayman Islands National Weather Centre Forecast

Valid: Afternoon of July 2, 2008 through to the afternoon of July 3, 2008.

Weather forecast for the Cayman Islands and coastal waters: Partly cloudy skies with possible isolated showers.

High Temperature today will reach the low 90s.

Low Temperature tonight will fall to the low 80s.

General Conditions & Satellite Imagery: Weather charts indicate that a weak upper level trough over the northwest Caribbean may support some isolated showers over the Cayman area for the next 24 hours.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida, has issued an advisory on Tropical Depression #2. At 5:00 a.m. TD#2 was located near 12.6N 22.7W or about 250 miles South-Southeast of the Cape Verde Islands. TD#2 is moving towards the West-Northwest near 9 mph with max sustained winds near 35 mph. This system poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands.

Winds over open seas: East to southeast 10 to 15 knots today, 5 to 10 knots tonight.

Seas: Slight to moderate with wave heights of 3 to 5 feet.
