Rough seas and wind over weekend

Friday 8th January, 2010   Posted: 10:59 CIT   (15:59 GMT)

A new cold front will move in the Grand Cayman area Saturday evening bringing windy conditions, very rough seas and cooler temperatures through Monday.

Winds are expected out north–northeast at 20 to 25 knots (23 to 29 miles per hour) Sunday and Monday, bringing very rough seas of five to eight feet, especially along the north coast. As a result, a small craft advisory will be in effect Saturday evening and Monday, with a small craft warning in effect Sunday.

Temperatures are expected to dip down to the mid–60s on Saturday and Sunday, with highs only in the mid–70s. Monday will bring a little warming with lows in the upper 60s and highs in the upper 70s.

The cold front will also bring some showers and cloudy skies to the area on Saturday and Sunday.
