Two women were injured by a hit and run driver Thursday night near the Centennial Towers complex in West Bay.

Royal Cayman Islands Police are searching for any witnesses who may have been in the area around 7:10pm Thursday.

A 54–year–old woman suffered serious head injuries in the wreck and is presently in intensive care at George Town hospital.

A 20–year–old woman also suffered injuries to her face, ankles and arm. She was treated and later released at George Town Hospital.

Witnesses told police that the suspect vehicle was a red Mitsubishi Pajero. The driver was described as a white male of slim build with his hair in a ponytail, wearing a red t–shirt and khaki pants.

RCIPS Inspector Adrian Barnett of Traffic Management is asking anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident or saw a jeep–like vehicle flee from the area to please come forward. Inspector Barnett can be contacted on 946–6254.
