I wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Bailey’s comment on Pirates Week– yes leave it alone.
I have attended the festivities since I purchased my home in North Side in 1995 along with six to eight of my friends from the USA. It’s harmless fun and brings a lot of tourists and their dollars to the Island.
I also have worked on North Side’s float and helped out setting up and working the Heritage Day at the public park in Cayman Kai. It was rewarding work as I met a lot of terrific people from North Side who worked together to make the event fun for all the visitors and neighbours.
All my friends that have been down have told people what a great time they had. Good, clean fun. The opening Friday night, the Pirates Landing and the individual District Heritage days are something Cayman can be proud of.
