Leave it be

I don’t care what they propose re–naming the festival.

It should stay as Pirates Week. It is appropriate, romantic, authentic, has its own tradition, has become world famous and is a great name.

Leave it be and don’t change things out of political correctness or just because you can.

Traditions are hard won and not to be tinkered with just because they seem to go out of fashion or worse still, out of sync with current politicians who are, lets face it, only a temporary feature. Many other countries would love to have a historical association with the pirates of bygone days, but don’t. I agree wholeheartedly with the Bodden family; pirates and consequently Pirates Week are consistent with Caymans history and heritage. Leave it be.
