The volunteers also sung both requested hymns and Christmas carols.

Suzette Anderson of Maples also led the group in prayer.

“Just being able to go out to the Pines and enjoy the company of our senior citizens puts a smile on all our faces,” said Wanda Ebanks, an associate at Maples and Calder.

“The lunch is now an annual event. It provides Maples Christian Fellowship with an avenue to live our faith in the community,” said Abraham Thoppil, the Maples and Calder associate who spearheaded this project.

Maples’ staff raised funds for the event by having an office dress down day earlier in the year.

Ms Anderson also presented a cheque to Haleemah Harling of the Pines, on behalf of Maples and Calder.
