Charity group Lean on Me is organising a concert to raise funds to help Cayman Brac and Little Cayman recover from the devastation of Hurricane Paloma.

The concert, titled United We Stand, will feature DJ Carter, bands Impulze and Regeneration and other performers, as well as stand–up comedy and dancers and will be held at the Lion Club.

Chairwoman of the Lean on Me Committee Derri Lee said: “The committee decided to put on the concert as we saw there is now a dire need for assistance for housing in Cayman Brac. We approached the Lions Club to assist us in putting on the event.

“I understand that at least 80 per cent of Cayman Brac residents did not have house insurance. Lean on Me is all about helping our community in need.”

Ms Lee added: “I am from Cayman Brac and my family has also felt the impact of Paloma. The Sister Islands have been getting a lot of support from companies and individuals of Grand Cayman. People are really pulling together to get them back on their feet.”

The concert will be held at the Lions Centre on Saturday, 29 November from 6.30pm, and gates open at 5.30pm.

Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for children aged 5–12 and are free for children under the age of five. The tickets will be available at the gate.
