Events Postponed, Cancelled by Paloma

Thursday 6th November, 2008   Posted: 15:20 CIT   (20:20 GMT)

Public events planned for this weekend have been either cancelled or postponed by inclement weather associated with the Paloma weather system. All government schools will also be closed tomorrow (Friday, 7 November).

Remembrance Day services scheduled for Sunday, 9 November on both Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac are cancelled. This means “wet weather” contingency plans will not be put into action and the events will not be taking place at an indoor venue.

The GIS Spotlight reception scheduled for this evening (Thursday, 6 November) at Government House has been postponed.

All Pirates Week events scheduled for Saturday, 8 November – including the landing, float parade and fireworks – are postponed to Saturday, 15 November. However, all the Heritage Days will continue as scheduled, starting with West Bay Heritage Day on Monday, 10 November from 11 a.m.
