Zulu’s fixes another epic Red Bull party

Thursday 6th November, 2008   Posted: 11:51 CIT   (16:51 GMT)

When you think of sheer domination, complete ruling of a sport, you think of Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and many others. When you think of the same calibre in wakeskating, Brian Grubb springs to mind. He holds more titles and wins than any other wakeskater alive and continues his domination.

Grubb has been with leading wakeskate company Hyperlite a long time, and this weekend Cayman gets an exclusive chance to see him in action.

Ever since he ditched the bindings and made the switch from wakeboarding to wakeskating, Grubb has been at the forefront of his sport, not only winning contests, but setting the standard for what is possible on a wakeskate.

So tomorrow at 2.30pm Grubb and two other world class wakeboarders, Eric Ruck and Colin Harrington, can be seen making a spectacular jump at the South Terminal in George Town Harbour. A ramp is being specially built for the event.

Organiser is Andreas ‘Zulu’ Kettner, Cayman’s Red Bull rep. He sponsors many sports including, flag football and swimming and this is another way of the businessman giving back to the community.

“Every year during Pirates Week I put on an extreme sports show,” he said. “This year I’ve brought over for my Friends of Red Bull party three world class wakeboarders. Brian Grubb is a legend in the sport and he and the others will put on a spectacular show.

“As well as the Saturday show, they will be putting on a display at Calico Jack’s on Sunday around noon.”

Grubb, 28, has been at the forefront on his sport for a decade and like his two fellow Americans cannot wait to reach here.
