One of the year’s biggest tournaments for local darts will take place during Pirates Week.

The annual Mickey Mouse tournament is set to take place on Sunday 16 November.

The competition will once again feature a singles and doubles format.

This year’s tournament is being sponsored by Red Stripe. Participants receive a free Red Stripe T–shirt.

Jillians Billiard Lounge and Bar in the Islander Complex, downstairs from the World Gym, is expected to host all the action.

Registration is expected to start at 12noon on the day with play starting roughly an hour later.

There is a registration fee of CI$10. Spectators can come by to watch for free.

A cash prize will be on offer along with trophies. Random prizes will also be on offer.

The men to beat this year are Cayman Islands Darts Association President Arthur Ebanks and Celso Ocampo. Both teamed up to win the doubles title. Ocampo also claimed the singles title.

With Ocampo no longer on island both titles are up for grabs and it’s anyone’s guess who will win.

For more information contact Arthur Ebanks at 916–7595 or Philip Parsons at 916–8965 or Eddie Ballantyne at 925–9393.
