Local artist Nickola McCoy–Snell is holding a solo art exhibition in aid of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society

The two–week exhibition – See Me Ya – is currently on show at the Morgan Gallery and runs through the 1 December.

In addition to being a fundraiser for the Cancer Society, the show is in celebration of the artist’s brother who died of stomach cancer.

This Saturday, visitors to the show will get an opportunity to meet the artist, from 10am to 2pm.

The exhibition includes some 40 vibrant artworks primarily in acrylic, including abstracts, impressionism examples and iconic Cayman scenes. Artwork will be shown in rotation throughout the duration of the show.

A prolific artist, Nickola was the first female artist to garner the prestigious McCoy Prize for artistic excellence in 2002 and has since gone from strength–to–strength. The self–taught artist has exhibited at numerous group exhibitions, including at the National Gallery, the Cayman Embassy in London, Ritz–Carlton, Grand Cayman, and at Art@Governors, held annually at the Governor’s residence on Seven Mile Beach. Her work can be found in private collections in the US, Canada, UK and the Cayman Islands.

The Morgan Gallery, located in Galleria Plaza on the West Bay Road, is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
