Brace yourself for cruisers

Get ready for lots of cruise ships in Grand Cayman in the next few days, weeks and months.

No less than eight cruise ships were due into port yesterday in George Town, with the same number scheduled for next Tuesday, 26 December, or Boxing Day.

Today, six ships are scheduled to come. Even this Sunday sees three ships in port, prompting many shops in George Town to open for business, even some that do not normally open on a Sunday, such as Le Classique’s George Town store.

However, a break for Christmas Day sees no ships calling.

Wednesday 27 December is to have six ships in port.

Into January, and cruise business is still very busy.

Eight ships visit on Wednesday, 3 January, with seven ships on three days: Tuesday, 2 January, Wednesday, 17 January and Tuesday, 23 January.

There are six ships on six days: Thursday, 4 January, Tuesday, 9 January, Tuesday, 16 January, Thursday, 25 January, Tuesday, 30 January and Wednesday 31 January.

Five ships are in on Wednesday, 10 January.

In February Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, is the busiest day when eight ships are in port.

Seven ships come in on Wednesday, 28 February, while six ships come in on three days: Tuesday 6, 13 and 20.

Five ships come on three days: Wednesday 21 February, Thursday, 22 February and Tuesday 27, February.

In March eight ships come in on Wednesday, 14 March, and on two occasions seven ships come in: Tuesday, 27 March, and Wednesday, 28 March.

On three dates six ships are in port: Tuesday 6, 13 and 20 March. Five ships come in on Thursday, 15 March.
