Forty–five Key Clubbers from St. Ignatius Catholic School, Triple C School, John Gray High School and Cayman Prepand High School went on a four –day trip to Orlando for the annual Florida District Key Club Convention.

Key Clubs are part of the Kiwanis family of service clubs and offer high school students the opportunity to do social services such as visiting the Pines Retirement Home, doing beach clean–ups and raising funds to prevent girls in Kenya from getting AIDS At the same time it helps them to develop leadership skills.

At the convention in Orlando, held 20 April, they met with more than 1,000 other students from Florida, elected the new District Board and installed the new Lieutenant Governors.

The four Cayman Key Clubs also organized a very successful workshop, which was attended by more than 80 Florida students. The workshop promoted the Cayman culture and Caymanian products.

The convention marks the beginning of a new club year and all students returned to Cayman with lots of inspiration for making another very successful Key Club year.

The students were accompanied by some of their teachers as well as two members of the Kiwanis Club of Grand Cayman, which sponsors the Key Clubs in the Cayman Islands.
