More Cubans pass through CI waters

Monday 3rd April, 2006   Posted: 22:51 CIT   (03:51 +1 GMT)

A vessel with 26 Cubans – 25 males, one female – arrived in Cayman Brac waters on Saturday morning but has since continued its voyage unassisted, said a GIS press release.

On first arrival, the Cubans had requested fuel and indicated that their vessel needed some repair. Assistance was denied and group elected to continue at that time, but returned Saturday evening.

Reports received at mid–day Sunday are that they have subsequently resumed their voyage unassisted, the release said.
