The two also got to hear the North Side Kitchen Band, see Ms Josie Solomon twirl to the tunes of old and hear how veterans were doing after the hurricane.
Veterans President, Captain Dale Ebanks was given a plaque to commemorate the visit and Health Minister Anthony Eden, Charles Adams, Lionel Downer and Harry McCoy were given Caribbean Service Awards for their dedicated service to the veterans.
Ms Burdett said it was nice to have a wonderful relationship with the people of the island. Cayman must be proud of their veterans and their colourful history, she said.
She said Hurricane Ivan was the world’s best kept secret, and offered the veterans support, and said if they were ever in any difficulty to let them know and they would be there for them.
The visit, in addition to other business, gave delegates an opportunity to renew ties between the RCL and the Cayman Island Veterans Association and to assess veterans’ damages sustained by Hurricane Ivan.
